Buckinghamshire Libraries are looking for a Library Resources Assistant (weekend) to join our friendly team in the Amersham Area, based at Gerrards Cross Library. We seek individuals who share our focus on customer service and enjoy engaging with services that can enrich lives.
The salary advertised is the grade level for the role. The actual salary will be pro-rata for 3 hours per week, from 1pm to 4pm.
About us
Buckinghamshire Libraries deliver a modern library service through 29 libraries across the county, supporting communities with a mix of staffed, volunteer-supported, and volunteer-led libraries.
We are launching Library Flex, an out-of-hours service allowing self-service access in 8 libraries, alongside regular staffed services.
About the role
This customer-facing role requires presence at a specific site daily, working across multiple locations, primarily Gerrards Cross Library, with occasional travel to other libraries in Buckinghamshire for relief cover.
The role is part-time, 3 hours weekly, with the following pattern:
* Mondays: X
* Tuesdays: X
* Thursdays: X
* Fridays: X
* Saturdays: 1.00pm – 4.00pm
* Sundays: X
Responsibilities include:
* Delivering library services, resolving customer enquiries related to loans, digital services, and computer use, and signposting to council services.
* Supporting volunteers and maintaining library collections.
This is a fixed-location role, primarily based at Gerrards Cross Library, providing services from that location.
