Job Description
Contribute as part of a team to the provision of a quality early learning and childcare service for children aged 0-8 years and their families. Work in accordance with the principles of the national care standards for early education and childcare, and abide by the Code of Practice for Social Service Workers.
Requirements
The duties involve regulated work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member for Regulated Work with these groups, or if already a member, to undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update, before a formal offer of employment is made by East Ayrshire Council. PVG records are regularly updated, and any relevant disclosures will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment.

During the application process, applicants should provide details of at least two relevant references, one of which must be from their current or most recent employer, and from an appropriate senior manager. References from peers at the same level are not acceptable.

The Individual
This is a full-time, term-time, temporary position based at Newmilns Early Childhood Centre, Newmilns, until 18 March 2027. The working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, as directed by the line manager.
The salary range for full-time employment is £30,176 - £32,287 per annum, and for term-time employment, it is £25,881 - £27,692 per annum.
