Payroll Administrator
Location: Plymouth/Hybrid – expectation to be office based approx. 2 days per week
Salary: £24,308 - £25,500 plus performance bonus
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)
About the Role
We're seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our busy Payroll Services team. You'll play a vital role in ensuring our payroll operations are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with service level agreements for both internal and external customers.
This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll knowledge who is highly organised, numerate, and customer focused.
What you'll be doing
* Processing payroll transactions including starters, leavers, variations to pay, absences, deductions, and statutory payments.
* Ensuring all payments are accurate, timely, and compliant with legislation and company policies.
* Assisting with payroll reconciliation and end-of-period routines.
* Managing adjustments to pay and liaising with stakeholders to resolve issues.
* Handling payroll queries professionally and effectively.
* Contributing to improvements in payroll processes and systems.
* Supporting colleagues across Payroll Services to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
What we're looking for
* Knowledge of statutory pay-related legislation, pension contributions, and employment law as it relates to payroll.
* Ideally, a payroll-related qualification or equivalent experience at administrator level.
* Competent ICT skills with experience of payroll systems.
* Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
* Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
