The role involves providing specialist mental health care for individuals with multiple and complex needs requiring intensive support. The nurse will take a lead role in the Clozapine and Depot Clinic and contribute to the development of the Physical Health Clinic.

You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of physical health care for service users. The role requires good teamwork, supervision, teaching, and development of junior staff, acting as a positive role model and leading in clinical practice and development.

The job involves carrying out all relevant care activities and ensuring the effective, safe coordination of physical health care for service users.

Extensive knowledge of clinic management and clozapine medication management is essential, including physical health monitoring such as ECGs, venipuncture, Pochi machine operation, and escalation of health concerns to appropriate staff.

Medication management, administration, and physical health checks are key responsibilities, with an emphasis on monitoring and reporting at regular intervals.

As a Band 6 Nurse, you will be required to attain a mentoring qualification.

The service promotes recovery for individuals with severe and enduring mental health issues, providing comprehensive multidisciplinary services and working closely with local mental health teams, tertiary providers, primary care, statutory and non-statutory agencies, service users, and carers.

This position offers excellent opportunities for training and professional development, including gaining skills in offering specialist interventions as care pathways are developed.
