Main duties of the job
What the role involves:
* To support and assist in the development and delivery of the groups offered by the service.
* To assist service users to participate in the groups.
* To provide support and encouragement to service users who find it difficult to engage in the group independently.
* To support maintenance of information for the group such as posters and session reports and feedback forms.
* To support the service in monitoring of mood and evaluation of the group/service.
* Engage and support people to complete outcome, experience and satisfaction questionnaires/surveys
* The knowledge, skills and attributes required for the role:
* Experience/knowledge of mental health
* Experience of working with parents and babies/young children
* A patience & caring nature
* Good communication skills.
* Punctuality and reliability

Volunteer Recruitment
Applying to become a volunteer may seem a little daunting for some people however, the volunteer service is here to guide and support you through the process.
Please be aware that due to the robust process, recruitment can sometimes take a few weeks.
Throughout the process you will have informal meetings with us and the service where you will be volunteering. In addition to this we will require you to:
* Complete an identity (ID) check
* Complete a Disclosure and Barring Service* (DBS) check,
* Complete an Occupational health assessment
* Give details for two references
* Complete relevant training.

DBS checks for volunteers are free and the level of check is dependent on the role you are undertaking.
