The Opportunity
We’re looking for our next intake of Trainee Solicitors happy to undertake the SQE route to qualification to join our team in September this year.
This intake will include full-time roles in the following practice areas:
* Corporate & Commercial (plus some exposure to Trade Marks)
* Employment & Health and Safety
There will be no rotations - you will be hired directly into a practice group on a two year fixed term contract. When submitting your application, please indicate your preferred practice area/s.
Successful candidates must be available to commence full time work in our Manchester office in September 2025.
You will receive comprehensive formal and on-the-job training focused on technical legal knowledge, matter management, and client service and meeting professional obligations, to give you a strong understanding of the legal needs of our commercial clients, and to meet the requirements of your Qualifying Work Experience. We are able to explore permanent NQ roles for Trainees who become admitted after at least 18 months in the team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Under the supervision of our Practice Leaders and Senior Associates, a typical day may include (among other things, and depending on your practice area):
* Providing oral and written advice to clients on a broad range of legal matters (including as part of our industry leading Legal Advice Consultation service).
* Corporate & Commercial: Drafting, reviewing and advising on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including website terms and conditions, privacy policies, supply agreements, SaaS agreements, as well as business structuring, incorporating companies, shareholder agreements, articles of association and employee share option schemes. You will also advise and assist clients on Intellectual Property protection, including registering trademarks and managing their trademark portfolios.
* Employment & Health and Safety: Drafting and advising on a broad range of employment and health and safety law matters, including employment contracts, settlement agreements, staff handbooks, and health and safety policies, as well as assisting with contentious employment matters, including pre-tribunal advice and tribunal claims.
* Conducting legal research.
* Assisting other practice areas as required, including Dispute Resolution.
* Participating in role plays to improve your client service skills, or having a team lunch on the rooftop.

* Eligible: You are a SQE qualification pathway candidate and you have successfully completed your SQE1 assessment (or equivalent).
