KITCHEN MANAGER – WELL‑ESTABLISHED RETAIL BUSINESS. Permanent position, 38‑hour contract, day shifts only, located near Southampton. Competitive salary of approximately £39,000 plus benefits.
The role is to control the kitchen operation, ensuring consistency across all service areas and strict control of budgets and P&L. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager and form part of the onsite leadership team.
Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of the kitchen operation.
* Complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
* Have knowledge of running all sections and support team members as required.
* Manage a kitchen team of up to 10 staff members during peak periods.
* Enforce Health & Safety, EHO and HACCP standards and procedures.
* Organise staff schedules, ensuring all holiday, sickness and absences are correctly noted and adequate cover provided.
* Oversee all recruitment and training of new team members.
* Liaise with other departments in the business as part of the senior management team.
* Complete stock checks, audits and ordering.
Qualifications
* Experience in a busy, high‑volume kitchen.
* Knowledge of counter service delivery.
* Good knowledge of kitchen processes and Health & Safety legislation.
* Can follow menu guides and ensure consistency on dishes.
