Teaching Assistant Level 2 (Early Years) - Pillgwenlly Primary School
Salary: Grade 3 SCP 5 - 6 £25,583 - £25,989 (Pro rata)
Pillgwenlly Primary School are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work with our youngest pupils in the Nursery class. This position is offered on a fixed term basis for one year.
Pillgwenlly Primary School has recently moved into a brand-new building. The school serves a multicultural and multilingual community in the heart of a diverse inner-city community within Newport, South Wales and enjoys excellent facilities which benefit the pupils and support community engagement. This extensive three-form entry school provides education for children aged 3 to 11 years and has a 20-place generic Additional Learning Needs Resource Base. The school is within the John Frost cluster of primary schools.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with early years pupils who understands the importance of developing excellent relationships and applying the principles of nurture to their work. Experience of working with young pupils and knowledge of what makes highly effective early years practice is an essential part of this role. We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible individual to support the work of the school who is willing to learn. You must be calm and approachable and passionate about wanting each child to experience success every day and have the knowledge, skills and experience to contribute to the work of the wider school team.
The broad outline of the role will be working to support pupils within the Nursery class. Full training will be provided to ensure that you are able to meet the needs of the child effectively as part of the wider school team.
If successful you can expect to work as part of a highly supportive team who work together to support a wide range of diverse needs across the school. You will have access to bespoke support both within school and if necessary from outside of the school to enable you to thrive in your role.
