Supported Internship Job Coach (2 Posts) Ref: 2526/187 Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: £28,922 to £29,786 per annum. Plus generous benefits, including: • 45 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures) • Generous Occupational Pension Scheme About the role We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Supported Internships team as a Job Coach. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with additional needs as they build the skills, confidence, and independence needed to progress into meaningful employment. In this role, you will provide tailored in-work coaching to help interns develop vocational, employability, and independence skills while achieving their individual goals. You will work closely with employers, parents or carers, and college staff to ensure a positive experience, monitor and record learner progress, and support areas such as travel training, workplace expectations, communication, and confidence building. You will also assist learners in overcoming barriers, support job searching throughout the year, and manage Access to Work processes to ensure accurate and timely payments. Some evening work and travel across placement settings may be required. If you are passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people into employment, we would love to hear from you. About the Person We are seeking an individual who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs into employment and independent adulthood. You will be supportive and encouraging, with the ability to motivate learners and build their confidence within workplace settings, while remaining patient and adaptable in response to challenges and changing needs. You should be organised and reliable, able to manage caseloads effectively, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills are essential, with the confidence to build positive and professional relationships with employers, learners, families, and colleagues. A proactive and solution-focused approach is important, enabling you to identify and implement strategies that help learners overcome barriers to learning and employment. Experience of working with young people with SEND is essential, and knowledge of supported employment practices would be advantageous. Appropriate training will be provided for the successful candidate.
