Overview
Trust Doctor (CT Level) in General Medicine – Outlier Team/Virtual Ward. This new team focuses on early discharge to virtual wards and alternative pathways, and manages medical patients within surgical wards. The post holder is an advocate and innovator promoting early discharge, with exposure to holistic/lifestyle medicine and social prescribing.
Responsibilities
* Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of general medical patients.
* Prepare and manage medical patients placed on surgical wards.
* Monitor and advise patients on the virtual ward.
* Facilitate early discharge to the virtual ward/Acute Care at Home and other pathways.
* Advise and innovate alternative support methods to encourage safe early discharge from medical wards.
* Teach and train junior staff and medical students where applicable.
* Ensure active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
* Participate in departmental and Trust matters related to Clinical Governance and Audit.
* Attend meetings as appropriate.
