💰 Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per year
📅 Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm | Full-Time | Day Shifts
Are you an experienced commercial plumber or mechanical maintenance engineer looking for a stable, full-time position on a static site in Bedfordshire?
We're hiring a Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer with a plumbing bias to join a fast-paced facilities team at a major warehouse/distribution centre. Ideal for someone with hands-on experience in plumbing maintenance, HVAC systems, and general building services, this role offers variety, responsibility, and long-term career prospects.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on:
Ventilation systems (AHUs, FCUs, extract/intake fans)
Heating and cooling plant (e.g. water heaters, thermal wheels)
Plumbing systems (booster sets, calorifiers, TMVs, water tanks)
Carry out general plumbing repairs in kitchens, bathrooms, and washrooms
Complete statutory compliance tasks (e.g. legionella checks, water temp monitoring)
Conduct basic building maintenance and minor fabric repairs
Use CAFM or paper-based systems to log maintenance tasks
Support the wider facilities team in ensuring safe, reliable operations
✅ Essential Skills & Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Previous experience in building maintenance, commercial plumbing, or facilities engineering
Solid knowledge of HVAC systems, water hygiene, and mechanical assets
Ability to troubleshoot plumbing faults and perform efficient repairs
Comfortable working at height and lifting equipment (up to 20kg)
Awareness of health & safety regulations and statutory compliance (e.g. L8)
