Apprenticeship Progress Mentor

Department: Apprenticeships

Salary: £27,350 to £31,590 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent Full time 37 hours per week

Reference: REC2318 | Closing Date: Sunday, 7th December 2025

The Opportunity

Based in our friendly Apprenticeships team, you will play a key role in supporting our apprentices throughout their learning journey. You will provide guidance, encouragement, and structured support to help them develop personally and professionally, ensuring that their progress is consistently monitored and effectively enhanced. You will work closely with our trainers, employers, and internal teams so that each apprentice receives a well-rounded and coordinated experience.

You will also help our apprentices overcome barriers that may affect their success, using a solutions-focused approach to build confidence and engagement. You will promote our learner voices, wellbeing, and participation, ensuring every apprentice feel supported both academically and personally. You will also contribute to the organisation of enrichment opportunities, career-focused activities, and learner engagement initiatives.

You will ensure that our apprentices stay on track by overseeing attendance, punctuality, progress reviews, and completion of key documentation. You will support the delivery of onboarding processes, group tutorials, and preparation for End Point Assessment. By maintaining accurate records and collaborating closely with colleagues, you will also help our apprentices make steady progress and access the opportunities they need to move forward in their chosen careers.

This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the development and confidence of our apprentices as they begin their careers. You’re not just supporting their academic progress — you’re helping them overcome challenges, build independence, and recognise their potential.

About You

You’re someone who brings both experience and a genuine commitment to supporting apprentices and young people. You have at least two years’ experience working with apprentices or young people, and you’re confident operating within an educational environment. You have experience delivering tutorials, teaching, or providing pastoral support, and you’re comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure that learners receive consistent, high-quality guidance.

You’re able to prepare high-quality learning materials and deliver engaging sessions in both group and one-to-one settings. You understand motivational techniques that help learners build confidence and stay engaged, and you’re knowledgeable about tutorial and pastoral systems, including how to support learners who may be at risk of falling behind.

You have a strong understanding of monitoring procedures and intervention strategies that help retain learners and maximise their progress. Your ability to use IT systems enables you to analyse and interpret data effectively, allowing you to identify issues early, generate solutions, and track performance.

What matters most is your ability to support apprentices as individuals while keeping their progress consistently on track. You’re there to guide, encourage, and challenge learners so they can develop both personally and professionally, and your approach directly influences their confidence, achievement, and overall experience.
