Senior Campaigns Officer - Newham Initial 3‑Month Contract | Full‑Time (36 hrs, Mon-Fri, 9AM-5PM) Hybrid - 2-3 days per week at Dockside, Newham £26.13 PAYE / £34.15 Umbrella Newham Council is seeking a dynamic Senior Campaigns Officer to take ownership of communications across the Housing Improvement Programme. This is an exciting role for a skilled communicator who can deliver clear, accessible, and resident‑focused messaging that makes a real difference to communities. You'll lead all communication activity linked to the Housing Improvement Programme, including the "Improving Your Homes" plan and Keeping Residents Informed TRA project, ensuring every piece of content is accurate, timely, and aligns with council governance and brand standards. Key Responsibilities Campaign & Communication Leadership Lead the planning, design and delivery of integrated, multi‑channel campaigns from concept to completion. Develop campaign structures with clear goals, target audiences, messaging, and measurable success indicators. Ensure all campaigns are inclusive, effective, and aligned with council priorities. Collaboration & Coordination Work closely with Heads of Service, Assistant Directors and the Director to coordinate and sign off campaign materials. Bring together specialist teams across the Marketing Directorate, unlocking their strengths to deliver cohesive and impactful campaigns. Housing Communications Support Provide centralised BAU communications across Housing Services. Produce letters, posters, digital updates, engagement materials, notices and more-all aligned with brand and accessibility requirements. Support communication delivery for the Resident Involvement Strategy and associated engagement activities. Content & Tools Development Create toolkits, templates and resources to help service teams deliver consistent communications. Refresh and manage web content ensuring it is clear, accurate, and up to date. Campaign Oversight Manage budgets, timelines and resource planning for all campaign activity. Oversee production of campaign assets ensuring a unified brand voice and consistent messaging across all channels. Experience & Skills Required Experience Proven track record in planning, delivering and evaluating successful communication campaigns-public sector experience ideal. Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Hands‑on experience in at least two of the following: Media relations Digital marketing Behaviour change / social marketing Brand Social media Public affairs Knowledge Strong understanding of integrated campaign management best practice. Familiarity with legal and voluntary controls governing local authority publicity.
