Contract: 0.4 fte (Fixed term for 6 months)

We are looking for a person with a good Honours Degree in Geography, Geology, Anthropology, Archaeology, Forensic Science, Environmental Science or a similar subject, to work as a part‑time Research Assistant with Professor Hunt in a laboratory‑based project on the geoarchaeology of the Neanderthal "Flower Burials" at Shanidar Cave, Iraq.
Responsibilities
* Participate in day‑to‑day running of the research project.
* Perform sediment granulometry and geochemistry analyses.
* Record, enter, and interpret data.
* Communicate with Professor Hunt and the wider Shanidar Project team.
* Assist with production of internal reports and manuscripts for publication.
Qualifications
* Good Honours Degree in Geography, Geology, Anthropology, Archaeology, Forensic Science, Environmental Science or a similar subject.
* Enthusiastic and highly organised individual.
* Experience or training in sediment analysis techniques preferred.
