Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess strong communication skills. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting children with their daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and helping them achieve their personal goals. This position requires a proactive approach to care and the ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide support and assistance to children in various settings, including home and community environments.
* Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
* Assist children with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
* Foster positive relationships with children to encourage their social skills and emotional development.
* Maintain accurate records of progress and any incidents that occur during support sessions.
* Communicate effectively with families, educational staff, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times while promoting independence where possible.
* Drive to various locations as required for support sessions or activities.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children is essential; childcare qualifications are advantageous.
* A valid driving licence is required for this role to facilitate transportation of children as needed.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children and families.
* Proficiency in IT is preferred for maintaining records and communication purposes.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
