HEART Technical Officer
Location: Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council, Warwickshire, UK
Position: Permanent, full‑time.
Responsibilities
* Carry out detailed and complex inspections of residential dwellings, identify hazards and understand remedial works needed.
* Design and produce schemes of required improvements, repairs and adaptations that meet the needs of the individual client.
* Provide technical advice and assistance to other staff within the HEART team.
* Work with architects, occupational therapists, housing assessment officers and other professionals to provide detailed schedules of work.
* Develop a trusting relationship with clients, ensuring the service is delivered to the highest standard, maintaining professionalism and adapting delivery to suit client needs to ensure works are completed within set timeframes and to required specifications.
* Work with contractors to deliver various types of adaptations, ensuring the works meet required specifications and the needs of the client.
Qualifications
* BTEC HNC Level 4 Building or equivalent qualification, or willing to work towards.
* Able to produce and understand technical drawings.
* Have, or be willing to obtain, a certificate in Housing Health and Safety Rating.
* Experience of providing a public service and understanding customer care issues.
* Experience of working within a housing inspection environment and having previously conducted housing surveys/inspections.
* A full clean driving licence.
