About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Assembly & Calibration Technician to join a reputable and established organisation in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in precision mechanical assembly, have experience working with hydraulic and electronic components, and demonstrate a strong understanding of calibration and testing procedures.
This position is primarily responsible for the precise assembly of mechanical testing equipment using specialist tools, jigs, and fixtures.
Additional duties include supporting calibration and functional testing activities to ensure compliance, accuracy, and reliability of the finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform precision assembly of mechanical testing equipment, incorporating hydraulic and electronic components.
* Utilise specialist hand tools, jigs, and bench techniques to maintain high assembly standards.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate assembly.
* Conduct scheduled and reactive calibration and functional testing of assembled equipment (less frequent than assembly tasks).
* Assist in fault-finding, troubleshooting, and minor repair work on products.
* Maintain precise assembly and calibration records and documentation.
* Comply with ISO/UKAS standards and adhere to quality and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate effectively with design, production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
* Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Demonstrable experience in precision mechanical assembly, preferably with hydraulic and electronic systems.
* Familiarity with calibration and testing processes for mechanical or electrical equipment (desirable but not essential).
* Background in precision engineering, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or test laboratory environments.
* Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
* Strong practical skills in the use of hand tools, jigs, and assembly fixtures.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Competency in IT for maintaining records and documentation.
