The Opportunity:
We are partnered with a practice in Norwich that is known for its technical excellence across both civil and structural engineering. This focused role is crucial to their ongoing success in the residential and commercial development sectors.
Reporting directly to a Director, you will be empowered to take ownership of the detailed design of essential infrastructure packages. Your expertise will be vital in coordinating designs and securing the statutory approvals needed to get developments off the ground.
Key Responsibilities:
* Detailed Drainage Design: Lead the preparation of detailed designs for both private and adoptable drainage schemes across residential and commercial developments.
* Statutory Approvals: Play a key role in the production of all technical designs and drawings necessary for S278 (Highways), S38 (Roads), and S104 (Drainage) submissions.
* Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain direct communication with clients, local council officers, and internal design team members to ensure technical approvals are secured efficiently.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all technical drawings and reports are delivered to the highest standards.
* Professional Development: Benefit from structured training, both on-project and via external courses, to support your progression.
Essential Skills & Expertise:
* A relevant Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree (such as Civil Engineering).
* A minimum of 3-4 years of professional experience in a design consultancy.
* Proven experience producing detailed engineering and technical drawings for highway and drainage schemes.
* Proficiency in key design software: AutoCAD, plus PDS (or Civils 3D) and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage.
* Excellent numeracy, communication, and written English skills.
* A creative, logical thinker who excels at problem-solving.
