Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, experienced nurse to join the Clinical Procurement Team. The post holder will work as part of a team of nurses within the Procurement Department to support the Supplies & Procurement Team to undertake a wide range of procurement related projects, some of which may require implementation across all Clinical Service Units within Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust (LTHT). The role involves planning, implementing and managing a portfolio of projects under the supervision of the Lead Clinical Procurement Specialist. The job holder is expected to provide leadership for delivering and supporting the implementation of project outcomes across all clinical areas and sites within LTHT and supporting the strategic aims and delivery of Nursing and Midwifery agendas within LTHT.
The position is based at 53 Dolly Lane. There may be a requirement for occasional weekend, out of hours and on call work, particularly during the implementation phase of projects. THIS ROLE IS 30 HRS/WK & HYBRID.
Main Duties
* Set, monitor and seek to continuously improve standards and quality of patient care.
* Participate in analysis of information from a variety of sources and make recommendations for implementation in clinical areas.
* Highlight relevant operational activities to the Lead Clinical Procurement Specialist to manage and implement defined project targets, and notify the project manager / Lead CPS when issues occur.
* Take part in medical device and equipment evaluations and document results.
* Support Matrons, Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses who are implementing product changes in their clinical areas; work in a variety of clinical settings.
* Disseminate and receive feedback on procurement projects from nursing, medical, and allied health professionals; evaluate clinical impact for inclusion in reports.
* Create training materials and presentations, deliver training, provide user guides and training support.
* Participate in direct patient care as determined by the project portfolio, including clinical audits, assessments and evaluations of care.
* Actively seek and identify opportunities for new ways of working to improve efficiency and promote evidence‑based care.
* Lead by example, promote change in nursing and clinical practice, support the implementation of Leaders in Leeds using the Leadership Fundamentals matrix.

* Understanding of current issues in healthcare
