We are looking for a dedicated Communication Support Specialist (BSL) to provide vital 1:1 support for a hearing‑impaired pupil, ensuring their ambition is never limited by communication barriers. This is a fixed‑term contract until 31/08/2027.
Your Role in Our Community
* Facilitate Learning: Use your talent in British Sign Language (Level 1 or above) to interpret the curriculum and modify language in real‑time.
* Drive Ambition: Work with teachers to deliver personalised support plans, fostering the pupil's self‑esteem and independence.
* Enrich Relationships: Facilitate communication between the pupil and their peers, ensuring they are a fully engaged member of our school community.
* Collaborative Excellence: Partner with a supportive team of educators and external professionals to drive high educational standards.
* Qualified as BSL Level 1 or above (or willingness to complete qualification)
* Empathetic and possesses a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers.
