Working Hours:
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
Term-time only (includes inset days and pupil-free periods as required)
Two Key Components of the Role
* Permanent position as Maths Teacher
* Temporary Maternity Cover for Head of Maths Department
* Maths Teacher (Permanent)
* Teach Mathematics to Years 3–8, preparing pupils for Common Entrance (and equivalent), pre-tests and scholarships
* Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and integrate ICT effectively
* Track, assess and report on pupil progress
* Work closely with Learning Support and pastoral staff to meet individual needs
* Contribute to the wider life of the school through co-curricular activities, trips and duties
* Head of Maths Department (Maternity Cover)
* Lead and manage the Maths Department, setting academic standards from Years 3–8
* Develop and maintain schemes of work, curriculum policies and departmental resources
* Chair departmental meetings and lead CPD for staff
* Oversee assessment data, tracking and reporting
* Manage departmental budget and resources
* Ensure compliance with school policies and contribute to whole-school leadership initiatives
* Plan enrichment opportunities, trips and cross-curricular projects
Key Requirements:
Essential:
* Recognised teaching qualification in Maths.
* Strong subject knowledge & classroom practice.
* Experience with CE, scholarship, or pre-test curricula.
* Excellent organisational, communication & ICT skills.
* Pastoral sensitivity & commitment to safeguarding.
* Resilient, flexible, team player with a sense of humour.
* Willing to contribute to wider school life (co-curricular, trips, duties).
