Kelso Relief Support Practitioners – £13.45 per hour. (Pay award pending – the new rate will be confirmed at interview, subject to formal agreement)
Kelso service provides support to 10 unique individuals with varying needs and abilities. They receive different levels of support with hours to suit personal requirements, enabling them to maintain their tenancies and to live enjoyable lives. Our team encourages people to maximise their independence, participating in activities of their choice, and to have meaningful relationships in the wider community.
Responsibilities
* Work with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
* Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
* Be responsible in supporting individuals throughout the activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.
* Update and maintain accurate records using a tablet on Arks Information Management system.
Role Details
Relief Support Practitioners carry out the same duties as full‑time Support Workers but are not contracted to any fixed hours, giving them the flexibility to pick up shifts that suit their availability.
Relief work is offered on an as and when basis to cover sickness absence, study leave, and other staffing needs. There is no guarantee of regular or ongoing work, and demand for relief staffing may vary over time.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience in a care setting is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided.
* This role may also be referred to as Support Worker, Care Assistant or Care Worker in other organisations.
