About The Role
Lead the day to day planning, coordination and supervision of rail plant maintenance activities at Hither Green Rail Depot, line‑managing a team of plant fitters to deliver safe, compliant, right‑first‑time maintenance that maximises asset availability and supports delivery commitments.
What you’ll be doing
* Line management of a team of plant fitters and coordination of subcontractors
* Depot leadership, HS&W, Stores, Fleet/Plant, Procurement, Commercial, Operations, HR, Training.
* Lead briefings and toolbox talks, Ensure compliance with depot procedures and PPE.
* Promote environmental compliance and waste reduction.
* Inducting visitors.
* Manage rostering, leave, sickness, performance, and development.
* Set people to work with clear briefs and permits.
Who we’re looking for
* The Ideal candidate will have experience supervising or leading plant maintenance or workshop operations & technical team members within an engineering discipline including; Rail, vehicle manufacturing etc
* Understanding of safe systems of work and quality planning.
* Stores/procurement knowledge.
* Strong communication skills.
* IT competent
