About the Role:
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students both inside and outside the classroom. You will help with delivering lessons, supporting students' individual learning needs, and ensuring that all students feel engaged, confident, and motivated to succeed. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys working with young people in a dynamic secondary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and activities across a range of subjects.
Provide individual or small group support to students who may need extra help with their learning.
Support students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they have the resources and strategies needed to fully participate in lessons.
Help students manage their behavior and stay on task, promoting positive learning experiences.
Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and contribute to personalized learning plans (PLPs) where appropriate.
Provide emotional and social support to students, creating a safe and positive classroom environment.
Assist with general classroom management, ensuring that students are following school policies and maintaining a respectful atmosphere.
Help with administrative tasks such as marking work, preparing materials, and organizing classroom resources.
About You:
Experience working with secondary school-age students, ideally in a classroom setting (though not essential).
A patient, approachable, and supportive nature, with a genuine desire to help students succeed.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of students and the classroom environment.
An understanding of secondary school systems, curricula, and the importance of creating an inclusive and motivating learning space.
