A well-established Scottish Law firm currently has an open vacancy for an accomplished Lawyer with expertise in rural property. The successful candidate will join its dynamic Rural Business Team in Aberdeen.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a minimum of 1-year PQE with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for the rural sector and rural property work. Key tasks will include:
1. Providing advice to landowners on rural development including residential, renewables, telecommunications and quarrying.
2. Purchase and sale of estates, farms, forestry and other rural land.
3. Providing advice to landowners in relation to emerging Natural Capital markets including carbon codes and biodiversity.
4. Ongoing management legal advice to estates and rural businesses of all sizes including sales of bare land, sales of residential properties, and advising on issues such as land reform, trustee/partnership conveyancing, creation of title conditions.
5. Advising on matters relating to agricultural holdings in both contentious and non-contentious situations, including the creation, termination and variation of agricultural tenancies.
