Job Introduction
Daily Mail is looking for a talented Social Media Editor to join its industry-leading social team.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist the Head of Social in scheduling and posting to all Daily Mail social feeds and channels.
* Proactively research and find the latest news and viral trends ahead of competitors.
* Cover live events, TV shows and breaking news on existing and emerging social media platforms.
* Creating captions, headlines and thumbnails to generate article traffic to our 22 million Facebook audience.
* An eye for identifying new trends, platforms and initiatives which can enhance the Daily Mail brand.
* Working across a seven-day rota and covering live-events as they happen.
* Monitoring article traffic using social media analysis tools and reporting back to the wider team.
Person Specification
* Prior experience working with social platforms and crowdsourcing or experience managing social media platforms for a digital media publication is preferable.
* Ability to gather and analyse social media data and analytics. Good use of Adobe, including Photoshop.
* Ability to use your own initiative and make effective decisions.
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
* Understanding of all social media platforms including Facebook, X, WhatsApp and other websites.
