Associate Lecturers: Interior Design and Interior Architecture – Falmouth University

We are now looking to recruit dynamic Associate Lecturers in Interior Design and Interior Architecture to join our established and well-respected course. The course is based at the Woodlane campus, Falmouth along with a series of other creative courses surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden with close access to the beach.
The interiors course at Falmouth celebrates experiential design, interior atmosphere within the residential and commercial sectors. We have previously won graduate awards at the Interior Educators show and have close links with industry and we are looking for people to complement the existing team. The learning and teaching environment is blended with expertise expected in both on-campus delivery and in digital platforms.
Responsibilities
* Join other staff members in the interiors studios to inspire and share knowledge with students as they work on various projects.
* Create content in the form of bite-sized lectures and academic workshops.
* Organise material talks, site visits and help with the general Teaching and Learning Space for the Interiors courses.
* Work in industry with connections to industry suppliers, discuss onsite projects, and apply knowledge of technical resolution, lighting and sustainable material specification.
* Contribute to building the subject area and enhancing the materials library in the studio.
* Collaborate with the Course Leader to deliver high-quality teaching as part of a dynamic team.
Qualifications and experience
* Working knowledge of industry-relevant software (particularly Revit, Adobe Creative Cloud, SketchUp, and AutoCAD).
* Experience of teaching in the higher education context.
* Knowledge of emerging AI tools, VR and AR is desirable.
* Passion for the subject and ability to inspire the next generation of designers.
