Our Facilities Management Team is an essential part of this model, working across the corporate estate to provide a high quality, responsive FM service. A vacancy has recently arisen for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our Facilities Management Team within Community Wealth Building. The role will have responsibility for the management of buildings allocated to the post (covering either North or South Islington) and being a point of contact for occupants of these buildings. Main duties: Key responsibilities will include: Ensuring that the premises and any facilities, equipment and devices provided in respect of the premises are subject to a suitable system of maintenance and are maintained in an efficient state, working order and in good repair. Ensuring that Health and Safety regulations/precautions are maintained within the premises managed and that satisfactory evacuation arrangements in the event of a fire or other emergency and to act as an emergency officer or ensure nomination. Supporting and managing staff within your team, providing guidance to support and empower staff to deliver a high quality FM offer. Ensuring that the work of your team is well planned, monitoring compliance and quality to ensure work done by staff and complies with expected standards. We’re looking for someone who has experience of Facilities Management in a large complex organisation with a track record of delivering results successfully. This could include, but is not limited to, Offices, Schools, Libraries, Nurseries etc. You will need to be able to demonstrate experience of leading, managing and motivating a team. Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders will also be important. The role will also require the ability to carry out minor premises related repairs (internal and external) and be competent in the use of simple building tools in line with the Health and Safety systems of work. This service brings together development and management of all council owned and managed assets (other than existing housing stock) into one place and supports delivery of our Corporate Landlord model.
