Role Purpose: We're excited to be creating a new Head of Investments role - an opportunity to shape the future of our investment strategy as we grow beyond £3bn in assets. This is an exciting opportunity to lead real change, overseeing a forward looking, resilient portfolio that balances high-quality, capital efficient asset allocations with carefully chosen investment managers.You'll play a pivotal role in guiding how we invest, partnering with brilliant teams across Finance, Risk, Actuarial and Group to strengthen our balance sheet and drive long term value. Responsibilities Shape and deliver our investment strategy, including risk budgets, asset allocation and liquidity positioning, while embedding ESG considerations
Source and assess new investment opportunities that enhance returns and support our long term business plan
Manage and oversee external investment managers, leading mandate design, fee negotiations and ongoing performance reviews
Produce and present high quality investment reporting and insights to senior leadership, Board, Investment Committees, and Sampo Group forums
Work closely with Finance, Risk, Actuarial and Group teams to optimise capital, support regulatory submissions and maintain strong governance
Lead financial insight and investment reporting, including forecasts, P&L analysis, IFRS requirements and robust investment MI and data controls
Qualifications CFA (or equivalent professional qualification) or significant industry experience
Significant experience in the investment industry with preference for those who have managed insurance portfolios or supported insurance asset management strategy
Strong understanding of markets with focus on fixed income (public and private)
Ability to work independently within a small, high performing team
Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
Knowledge of insurance regulations and asset liability matching principles
