Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Charge Nurse within our District Nursing Team based at Glenapp within Ailsa Hospital.
What You Will Do
The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of an accessible, appropriate, high quality and effective nursing service to adults in the community by working in partnership with patients, care providers and other agencies. You will ensure a person-centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy.
You will have experience working as a qualified registered Nurse and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a variety of client groups in the community setting. Previous community experience is essential. Leadership experience is desirable; development/secondment applicants will be considered.
You will be responsible for the management of the caseload including supervision and deployment of staff. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative and as a lone worker within a variety of community settings. Evidence of personal development and willingness to undertake appropriate training is expected.
The post holder will function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience to lead and enable the Community nursing team to provide a quality nursing service. You will lead/manage and support the Community nursing team, be a clinical expert, be involved in public health activities, and be a key member of the Integrated Primary Care team and other multi-disciplinary groups.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
* Educated to Degree Level
* Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
* Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification including clinical assessment and non-medical prescribing
* The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
* Effective time management skills
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Car Driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence and access to a car
Hours
37 hours per week. Mon – Fri 0830-1700 pro rata with a weekend working commitment.
Fixed Term/Secondment
This post is offered on a 6 month fixed term/secondment basis. Contract will end exactly 6 months from initial start date.
Driving Licence/Car Ownership
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential to this role.
