We have an exciting opportunity for a Prosthetic Technician to join our existing team in Billericay in the southeast of England.
The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Prosthetic Technician to join our clinic in Billericay, Essex. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dedicated multidisciplinary team, supporting Prosthetists in delivering high-quality prosthetic care to patients. The successful candidate will undertake the manufacture, repair and maintenance of prosthetic limbs, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake the manufacture and repair of prosthetic limbs in accordance with prosthetist and manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure all prostheses are ready for fitting and delivery within agreed lead times.
• Maintain accurate stock control and ensure all stock is correctly booked to work orders.
• Reduce material wastage through effective workshop practices.
• Work collaboratively with Prosthetists and management to stay up to date with new prosthetic componentry and manufacturing techniques.
• Identify training requirements and communicate development needs to management.
• Maintain high standards of quality assurance, health and safety, and environmental compliance.
• Support a positive and collaborative working environment across the department.
Requirements
• Experience within prosthetics, orthotics, manufacturing or a similar technical workshop environment.
• Strong practical and technical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently and manage workload to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Positive and professional attitude with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
• Experience working within an NHS or healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of prosthetic componentry and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience using workshop machinery and technical equipment.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development or technical training.
