About our Team
The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineering team offers services from initial concept through Power Systems Analysis, Cabling, Substations, Transmission and Distribution Infrastructure, System Balancing and Compensation, Protection Systems, SCADA, Communications, Converter Station Design, HVDC Systems, and overseas links.
Job Description
In this leadership role, you will be a key member of our T&D team, engaging with clients and contributing to the successful delivery of innovative and technically challenging civil design projects related to T&D.
This new specialist associate director role combines project management and delivery to support the growth of our UK & Ireland T&D practice.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing technical expertise in civil engineering design for power transmission and distribution projects, including creating plans for substations, transmission towers, and underground cable systems, using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit.
* Supporting the concept to detailed design of projects involving substations, power stations, data centers, BESS, and renewables.
* Reviewing engineering deliverables such as designs, reports, proposals, and drawings.
* Representing the company in client meetings, contributing to bids and proposals.
* Managing project scope, technical delivery, and client engagement for civil works.
* Participating in large programs like the GGP projects.
* Providing technical evaluations and problem-solving solutions, contributing to proposals with detailed project information.
* Ensuring safety, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards are met.
* Leading project and client meetings, adhering to design management processes.
* Participating in strategic planning to grow the business.
* Mentoring team members and supporting professional development.
* Collaborating with global teams to deliver regional projects.
* Ensuring designs comply with standards and codes.

Qualifications
What we look for:
* Significant UK infrastructure engineering experience, preferably from a consultancy background.
* Civil Engineering degree with over 10 years supporting utility projects, including transmission, renewable energy, BESS, and substations.
* Specialization in civil components like site layout, access roads, grading, drainage, and interdisciplinary coordination.
* Experience with National Grid projects is advantageous.
* Chartership and Lead CDAE/CDAE certifications are advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills.
