1. Would you like to work for an award-winning Planning Service? Fife Council is Scotland’s third largest local and planning authority and the Planning, Climate and Sustainability Service is recruiting a Chartered Planner (FC8) to join our Policy & Place team working on the preparation and implementation of Fife’s new local development plan, Fife’s Place Plan.
2. Our systems and technology have been developed making it easy for our staff to work from any location. That means that whilst we are based in Glenrothes, the post is offered based on a blended working arrangement, which can include a significant element of working from home.
The Person
3. You must be educated to SCQF level 9, which includes a Degree or equivalent in Town and Country Planning. You will hold full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI). You will have a good understanding of the statutory planning process with an emphasis on development planning.
4. You will deal with all aspects of preparing and implementing Fife’s Development Plan, including preparing planning policy and guidance, facilitating events, and supporting the development and implementation new initiatives.
5. You will be committed to delivering a high-quality customer focussed service.
6. You will meet the essential requirements for the post contained in the role profile. These will be used to shortlist candidates. The role profile covers all the Chartered Planner posts within Planning Services including development management roles, but the focus of this post will on local development planning.
