Teacher of English
Hours of work: Full time

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic English teacher who can start as soon as possible to join our team of experienced and talented teachers passionate about student development.
The Moat English Department lead the city-wide English Hub, and have previously been shortlisted for the national TES Award for ‘English Team of the Year’ based on our extensive whole-school approach to improving literacy.
Our department motto, ‘it’s all about the students’, translates into an ambitious approach to teaching and learning within the classroom and beyond.
TASKS:
The tasks associated with this role are listed in the current School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document as well as:
1. To become familiar with the National Curriculum Programmes of Study for English at Key stages 3 and 4.
2. To plan lessons in line with the English Department's teaching schemes.
3. To prepare differentiated resources to meet the learning needs of individual students.
4. To teach English to Years 7 to 11 and assess/record student progress in line with the departments’ assessment, recording and reporting policy.
5. To be responsible for a tutor group and facilitate student development through a tutorial programme and records of achievement.
6. To participate in appropriate meetings with colleagues and parents related to the above duties.
