This highly sought-after post will appeal to individuals who have successfully completed the Intermediate Family and Systemic Training or CYP IAPT Systemic Training Programs, and have a core profession relevant to working with young people with mental health difficulties. You will have the opportunity to extend and develop your systemic skills through work with individuals and families. You will join the specialist family therapy clinic to offer screening, reflecting team interventions, and systemic consultations. Additionally, you will be part of the Trust-wide systemic forum and have access to internal and external systemic CPD training opportunities. The role is based in a Children and Young People's Mental Health Service working with complex cases, including neurodiversity, risk, and systemic difficulties.
Although funding cannot be guaranteed, you may apply for systemic training opportunities as they become available.
Main duties of the job
Job Responsibilities:
1. Join the multi-disciplinary CYPMH Service to deliver mental health care and risk assessment to children, young people, and their families, including involvement in the assessment pathway.
2. Handle a range of clients and clinical situations, including emotive communication, requiring initiative, tact, and persuasion, especially in cases of psychological resistance.
3. Provide systemically informed advice on clients' psychological care to external professionals under supervision of an approved systemic supervisor or fully qualified Family/Systemic Psychotherapist.
4. Act as care coordinator when appropriate, initiating planning and review of CYPMH care plans involving children, young people, their carers, referrers, and others in the care network.
5. Facilitate feedback from clients and families using ROMs, Experience of Service questionnaires, and other mechanisms.

Additional responsibilities
Communicate sensitively with parents, carers, professionals, and CYP regarding assessments, formulations, and treatment plans. Monitor and evaluate progress during multidisciplinary care, liaising with referrers and other professionals. Work collaboratively with team members to implement priorities, develop the service, and ensure adherence to operational policies and procedures.
Identify and propose changes to work practices in collaboration with the local lead of Family & Systemic Family Psychotherapy and senior management. Report on clinical and organizational matters to management. Use evidence-based literature and research to support practice, contributing to high professional standards and service development.
Administration and clinical recording
Accurately record data into the Trust's systems, undertake administrative tasks, support research and audit activities, and ensure documentation complies with policies. Maintain a caseload, receive supervision, participate in professional development, and attend relevant meetings. Uphold high standards of record-keeping and stay informed about relevant legislation and policies.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Currently a trainee on an accredited MSc Family and Systemic Psychotherapy program accredited by AFT/UKCP, or
* Have completed the Intermediate Level Training/CYP IAPT Systemic Training, and hold a related graduate qualification (e.g., Social Worker, Nurse, Clinical Psychologist), with plans to pursue further family and systemic training.
Previous Experience
* Experience working with children and young people with mental health concerns across various settings, maintaining professionalism in challenging situations.
* Experience delivering evidence-based treatments in multicultural contexts, working within multidisciplinary teams, and providing specialist assessments and interventions.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum, pro rata (inclusive of 5% HCAS).
