Description for Candidates:
1. Perform special duties as assigned. To provide professional support in areas of Talent Acquisition, Policy Interpretation, Classification and Compensation.
How you will contribute:
2. Classification and Compensation: Review intake forms and job and position descriptions for appropriate classification. Assist supervisors in setting salaries during the hiring process and during agency transfers and promotions.
3. Perform duties as assigned.: Perform duties, tasks, activities and/or projects as assigned.
4. Performance Management: Assist employees and supervisor in navigating the performance management workflows in MyCareerConnect.
5. Policy and Procedure: Provide general information regarding policies and procedures to VDOT employees and managers, ensuring compliance is met in accordance with federal, state and agency laws and regulations.
6. Talent Acquisition: Develop job postings through the review of Position Descriptions in consultation with hiring managers. Screen applications to apply professional and legal standards effectively and efficiently to the talent acquisition process. Participate on interview selection panels, career fairs and recruitment events to promote VDOT.
7. Talent Administration: Review final employment recommendations ensuring clear justification for hire and compliance with EO and AA program and objectives. Conduct and process all pre-employment references and employment verifications. Attend statewide meetings to stay abreast of current issues and share information with other HR staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
12. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences and to make presentations and conduct meetings.
13. Knowledge of HR practices and principles.
14. Knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration.
Additional Considerations:
15. A combination of training, experience, or education in Human Resources or related field desired.
