Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality, inclusive coaching sessions for disabled people and mixed-ability groups in school, community, and club settings. The postholder will create a fun, engaging, and safe environment, adapting sessions to meet individual needs and helping participants develop confidence, skills, and enjoyment through sport.

Key Responsibilities
•Plan and deliver inclusive sports and physical activity sessions across DSY programmes and projects.
•Adapt activities to meet the needs, abilities, and confidence levels of all participants.
•Create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment that promotes learning and enjoyment.
•Support participants’ personal development through encouragement and tailored progression.
•Help to set up and pack away equipment and ensure venues are left in good order.
•Record attendance, feedback, and key outcomes where required.
•Work collaboratively with DSY staff, volunteers, and partners to deliver high-quality programmes.
•Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, equality, and other DSY policies and procedures.

Person Specification
Essential
•Experience delivering sports or physical activity sessions, ideally with disabled people or mixed-ability groups.
•Ability to adapt activities to suit a range of ages, abilities, and confidence levels.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills with participants, parents/carers, and colleagues.
•Reliable, punctual, and committed to creating an inclusive, positive atmosphere.
•Passion for promoting sport for all and empowering disabled people to be active.
Desirable
•Minimum Level 1 coaching qualification (or working towards one).
•Experience working in schools, community clubs, or disability settings.
•Awareness of inclusive coaching methods and understanding of different impairments.
•First Aid and Safeguarding training.
•Experience supporting volunteers or participant leaders.
