About the role
As a Vehicle Technician in one of our workshops, you'll be responsible for repairing and maintaining our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards and are roadworthy according to VOSA and Partnership requirements. You'll work alongside experienced technicians who will provide you with the necessary tools and support to develop your skills and advance your career.
At a glance:
* Salary: Up to £44,200 plus overtime; a shift premium of 20% of the base rate, adding up to approximately £6,300 annually.
* Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Sunday to Wednesday, 4am-2pm.
* Contract type: Permanent.
Based at our Waitrose Regional Distribution Workshop in Aylesford, Kent, the Vehicle Technician ensures our fleet remains well maintained and roadworthy.
Responsibilities
Working mainly on large HGV lorries, you will ensure all vehicles are maintained to safety standards, complete inspections, services, defect sheets, and adhere to ‘O’ Licence obligations. You will also manage spare requests and time bookings, applying best practices in commercial vehicle repair to deliver high-quality, cost-effective repairs using appropriate spare parts and consumables.

Essential Experience/Qualifications
* City and Guilds Level 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent.
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
* Proven experience in commercial vehicle repairs.
* Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness standards.
