An exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Privacy professional to build out a team at our Glasgow Campus.
CIPP/E qualified, you will leverage your deep technical knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies, risk management, and international data transfers to support Barclays' business, developing and overseeing proactive data privacy strategies.
You will ensure compliance with data privacy legislation, support breach management including containment and reporting, and drive initiatives to prevent future breaches.
Accountable for personal data management, you will perform risk assessments, test controls, and provide expertise on privacy by design for emerging technologies and core processes.
To succeed, you should have:
* Experience managing personal data breaches, including containment, reporting, and prevention measures.
* A relevant Data Privacy degree and/or CIPP/E qualification.
* The ability to ensure compliance with global privacy laws and demonstrate accountability for personal data.
Additional assessment may include skills in risk management, controls, change management, business acumen, strategic thinking, and technological expertise.
Purpose of the role
Provide expert oversight and challenge on business and compliance matters to ensure adherence to Barclays' legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
Accountabilities
* Assess compliance risks through reviews of business activities, processes, and systems.
* Investigate potential market abuse, including insider dealing, unlawful disclosures, market manipulation, or anti-competitive conduct.
* Oversee investigations of compliance breaches and ensure corrective actions are effective.
* Implement and align compliance policies with international standards and jurisdictional requirements.
* Collaborate with various teams including legal and risk management for comprehensive compliance oversight.
* Identify and oversee investigations into financial crimes such as money laundering and terrorist financing.
