About this opportunity Westmorland and Furness Council is looking to appoint a Senior Technician to support the management and administrative functions of the Strategic Asset Management Team. We are looking to recruit a friendly and motivated candidate to join our Highways Service as the service is continuing to grow and develop. We are looking for someone who can ensure all work activities are carried out with a focus on improvement, attention to detail and meeting timescales. Reporting to the Asset Lead and Technical Advisors, this role will be to develop, support, maintain and update all the various highway GIS and asset data systems. The role will require you to participate in site investigations in accordance with the Westmorland and Furness Skid Resistance Strategy and assist in the preparation of priority treatment schemes lists for use in the development of the Highways Capital Programme. You will be responsible for the collation of information/data for inclusion in the AIA ALARM survey, the NHT PMF Performance indicator and CQC benchmarking for improvement surveys. A relevant technical, vocational, or part-professional qualification is essential, as is knowledge of highways maintenance services. We are looking for someone who can adapt well to the demands of the service, enjoys working as part of a team and is willing to undertake tasks commensurate with the team as a whole.
