Job Overview
A Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire seeks a Personal Assistant to support their daughter, who is a caregiver, by providing socialisation and respite. The role, funded through the Direct Payments scheme, enables the client to manage support and meet care needs independently.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the employer to and from the bathroom if needed.
* Take the employer out into the community upon request.
* Provide companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation and offering social interaction.
* Ensure the employer’s safety at all times during working hours.
* Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during working hours.
* Be mindful of safeguarding issues and report any concerns to the relevant authority.
* Contact the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority if the employer needs medical assistance.
Person Specification
* Caring and patient.
* Responsible and honest.
* Proactive and self‑motivated.
* Good local knowledge.
* Good time‑keeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties.
* Good communicator.
* Able to develop a supportive and consistent relationship.
Additional Requirements
* A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is required.
* Business use must be included on vehicle insurance to allow use of the vehicle within work hours.
