Offer description

Overview

Do you want to make a real difference for people who have experienced a first episode of psychosis? We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to become part of our award-winning service. This is an exciting opportunity to work in and contribute to the effectiveness of the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIIP). EIIP has good outcomes for its clients and staff find it a very rewarding job based on positive outcomes and working closely with clients and their families.

As an Occupational Therapist and Care Coordinator you will use your professional and personal skills to help people identify and come to terms with their first episode of psychosis and support them on their path to recovery. Within EIIP the Occupational Therapy team is developing innovative ways of delivering occupationally focused interventions to support people in their recovery. This is an excellent opportunity to join the dynamic SABP occupational therapy service. We offer a robust CPD programme including an academic programme, reflective practice, occupational therapy core skills, eLearning and bimonthly occupational therapy forums. The team is based at Unither House Hub in Chertsey, with a satellite base in Aldershot Centre for Health. The candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role.

Responsibilities

* To provide high quality and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and interventions, both group and individual, to people who access EIIP services and their carers / supporters / family members, in line with the occupational therapy pathways for this specialist clinical area.
* To communicate effectively with people who access services, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and when appropriate outside agencies.
* To contribute to the generic functioning of the team and to promote patient safety and the management of risk.
* To be responsible as an autonomous practitioner to undertake a specialist clinical workload.
* To hold and manage a caseload as care coordinator, working within the EIIP model and CPA framework
* To complete New Patient Assessments for people referred to the service.
* To provide supervision and mentoring to more junior occupational therapists, occupational therapy apprenticeships and support workers (as appropriate)
* To provide occupational therapy student placements.
* To contribute to service development and audits.

As a flexible working and friendly organisation, we want to ensure that you can work in a way that is best for us, our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that's job share, part time or any other flexible working patterns.
