Job Overview
Working alongside our current Wellbeing Nurse, the post-holder will provide effective and proactive wellbeing support to Birketts LLP employees and will deliver occupational health services. This includes employee health appointments, annual medicals, and support for wellbeing campaigns.
The role is based in Ipswich with occasional travel to other Birketts offices (Norwich, Cambridge, London, Sevenoaks, Bristol, and Chelmsford). It is a part-time position, ideally 3 days or 21 hours per week.
Accountabilities
Purpose of the job
To support employee wellbeing and deliver occupational health services in collaboration with the current Wellbeing Nurse.
Core Responsibilities
* Provide confidential advice to line managers, HR, and employees regarding fitness for work and adjustments.
* Review pre-employment health questionnaires and advise HR on medical concerns.
* Conduct initial stages of annual medical screenings for senior staff in Ipswich.
* Hold appointments with staff to discuss health issues and support options.
* Signpost internal and external support services, including employee assistance programs and private medical insurance.
* Assist with staff referrals to external Occupational Health Doctors.
* Participate in firm-wide meetings to promote health and wellbeing initiatives.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of wellbeing strategies.
* Monitor and report on health themes and concerns.
* Promote health checks such as mole screening, BMI, and blood pressure.
* Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
General Approach
* Demonstrate a proactive approach to wellbeing efforts.
* Build trusting relationships with staff and partners.
* Show initiative in responding to queries and solving problems.
* Support staff concerns and guide them to appropriate resources.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in corporate occupational health services and assessments.
* NMC registration as an adult nurse or registration in progress.
* Mental Health First Aid Training (training provided if needed).
* Phlebotomy skills are preferred but not essential.

* Proficient in IT tools including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
