We are looking for an EHS Generalist to join our UK EHS team. The EHS Generalist provides support to the EHS and Facilities Team, as well as guidance to management and employees across the business. This role is site based and has multi sites within the region. Additional support may be required at other Raytheon UK locations and will therefore require travel and potential overnight stays. Skills and Experience Education Appropriate professional qualification at a minimum NEBOSH General Certificate Environmental qualification or equivalent Chemical background/ awareness of chemical management systems preferred Essential Knowledge and experience of working within the parameters ISO14001 and ISO 45001 Detailed knowledge of UK Statutory regulation concerning Environment, Health and Safety Working knowledge of General and Hazardous waste hierarchy Good understanding of COSHH and all associated requirements Previous experience in relation to Health and Safety Training and creation of content, ensuring audit ready at all times Relevant experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment Proficient at report writing, creating and presenting presentations using Microsoft office tools (in particular: Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Project management experience High level of initiative and committed to meeting goals Member of a relevant recognised industry professional body (e.g. IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM) or working towards and analytical skills Current holder of or eligibility to obtain MoD Secret (SC) level security clearance Desirable Willingness to enhance existing knowledge and qualifications and obtain an auditing qualification (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001) Responsibilities Working on various projects with the EHS team, act as the lead and prepared to present out plans to key stakeholders Demonstrate initiative in developing EHS programmes and initiating change processes Develop a good understanding of the EHS management system in line with legal requirements and corporate standards Provide EHS advice and guidance, using escalation techniques when required Working knowledge of risk assessment and initiating action plans Point of contact and lead in ensuring compliance to COSHH regulations throughout UK Lead and participate in audits, inspections and incident investigations, in any area of the site, which may involve using a ladder, working at height as well as physically accessing confined, underground and roof spaces Prepare and present at site EHS committee meetings, attend and support functional EHS Committee meetings Working knowledge and understanding of Environmental compliance, chair Sustainability team meetings and work together driving improvements and compliance in line with legislative, ISO standards and Raytheon corporate requirements Ensure all documentation is available to present to legal compliance auditor for Environmental and Health and Safety Audits Assistance with site compliance and completion of compliance tasks Participates in continuous improvement activities applying CORE principles Keeps up to date with EHS requirements Report writing on EHS related issues and performance objectives and metrics Ability to work to timescales, achieve personal goals and contribute to team effectiveness Benefits and Work Culture Benefits Competitive salaries. 25 days holiday statutory public holidays, plus opportunity to buy and sell up to 5 days (37hr) Contributory Pension Scheme (up to 10.5% company contribution) Company bonus scheme (discretionary). 6 times salary ‘Life Assurance’ with pension.
