The Role…
This role will involve working closely with the Beauty Testing Manager, Beauty Accreditation Lead and the Content Team to test products across a range of beauty categories (e.g., skincare, haircare, colour cosmetics and electricals) for editorial and commercial purposes. You will also carry out research into products on the marketplace and consumer trends, when required.
Test content sits across multiple Hearst brands such as Men’s Health and Women’s Health, Cosmopolitan, Elle and Good Housekeeping. Built on decades of product testing and expert editorial know-how, the results of our testing can influence purchasing decisions and assure consumers of the quality and value of a product or service.
Main Duties…
* To carry out panel testing trials and test products as requested by the Beauty Testing Manager. This will involve following strict test protocols methodically and recording, collating and analysing results with great accuracy using specialist equipment.
* To support the exposure, launch and delivery of the GHI’s annual pay-to-play ‘Believe in Beauty Awards'.
* To support the Beauty Testing Manager to deliver content for other parties such as commercial clients, when required.
* Inputting results into our product database.
* Identify opportunities and shoot/film testing content for use in article, social or promotional purposes.
* Help with content creation on ad hoc basis (no prior skills required).
* To organise and manage the delivery of product samples within pre-agreed testing timescales.
* To initiate ideas for testing.
* To sustain high testing standards and levels of consistency.
* To be responsible for the tidiness and cleanliness of samples on loan and the test facility in general.
* To check editorial proofs and artwork e.g. factual information, process and stockists.
* To keep up to date with current market trends.
* To build relationships with relevant manufacturers and PR.
* You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time.
* To be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.
What We Are Looking For…
* Will need to demonstrate practical skills and a passion for beauty products.
* Must be computer literate.
* Must be able to demonstrate good analytical skills and be able to interpret data confidently.
* Demonstrate experience of working within a practical testing environment either during university, working for a manufacturer, supplier or retailer.
* Excellent interpersonal skills as there will be interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, at all levels.
* Strong organisational and time management skills - be able to multi-task and be a problem solver.
* A mature and flexible approach to work.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to deal with high volumes of work accurately and to deadlines.
* Must have a can-do attitude with ability to work under pressure, be enthusiastic and proactive.
