We're now looking for a Transport First Line Manager to lead our team of drivers, ensure operational excellence and maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance and performance.
✅WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Lead and support a team of HGV drivers, assigning daily tasks and delivering regular team briefs to ensure the smooth operation across a fleet of 10 vehicles and 30 trailers
* Maintain strict security protocols when managing high‑value stock movements, using enhanced fleet technology such as remote access and remote immobilisation
* Monitor driver activity and fleet performance with a proactive, vigilant approach, ensuring compliance with Working Time Directive, driver's hours and wider transport regulations
* Manage and communicate operational KPIs and SLAs, driving performance, safety standards and service delivery across the operation
* Participate in a weekly rotating on‑call schedule to provide out‑of‑hours phone support, primarily handling queries from drivers
✅WHAT YOU'LL BRING
* Proven experience in a similar transport office role
* Strong people management skills, with the ability to lead, coach and develop drivers effectively
* Solid understanding of transport compliance, including Health & Safety, Working Time Directive and driver's hours regulations
* Confident IT user with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and transport systems such as ETQ, Tachomaster and LOGICS
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels
