GSL Education are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming Primary school in Eastbourne this September. This full-time, long-term position is ideal for individuals looking to build experience in education, especially those considering a future career in teaching.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you’ll step in during teacher absences to supervise pre-planned lessons, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged. You’ll play a key role in maintaining a calm and positive learning environment across different year groups.
Responsibilities as a CS:
* Deliver pre-set lessons and ensure learning continues in the teacher’s absence.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
* Encourage participation and support pupils in their learning.
* Collaborate with staff to ensure clear handover and pupil progress updates.
* Support the smooth running of the school day across various classes.
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
* Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
* Confident classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills.
* Adaptable, calm, and enthusiastic approach.
* A current CV covering the last 10 years with explanations for any gaps.
* An Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
