Help Shape the Future of High-Regulated Systems – Expert Senior EC&I Engineer Needed! Our Client has a requirement for a Senior EC&I Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Warrington. Role Purpose: Support the discipline Lead Engineer by providing technical delivery of schedule items. Provide relevant engineering underpinning through collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team and wider industry stakeholders. Oversee the translation of complex user requirements into fully engineered, safe, and legal design solutions. Job Role Responsibilities: Deriving high-level engineering solutions through structured optioneering processes and the down-selection of instrumentation/remote handling systems. Developing engineering specifications, including structured requirements management and validation. Determining data requirements for tracking and records management capabilities in accordance with regulatory requirements. Defining critical interfaces between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) systems. Producing comprehensive design drawings and documentation at all applicable stages of the gated design process. Engaging other disciplines and stakeholders at key lifecycle points while maintaining awareness of project management fundamentals. Ensuring all deliverables are completed in line with rigorous checking and approval processes. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: Related engineering discipline (Electrical & Electronic / Controls & Instruments). Degree qualification and Professional Registration (IET, IoP, InstMC) are highly desirable. Significant demonstrable experience in EC&I project delivery within highly regulated industries (e.g., Nuclear). Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory environments, including the Nuclear Installations Act, HASAWA, EWR, and IRR. Experience in process instrumentation systems and determining solutions for data management capabilities prior to IT/OT delivery. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work individually or as part of an integrated delivery team under restrictive time constraints. Experience with nuclear encapsulation, functional safety (TUV), BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition), AutoCAD 2D, and specific gated process training (Design Change Awareness/Checking & Approvals).
