A logistics technician is required for our established R&D and manufacturing site at Towcester, Northamptonshire. We are a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of innovative optical, photonic, and electronic components. With our expansion plans, we require an additional logistics technician for processing and moving incoming goods.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Processing incoming goods and delivery receipts
2. Picking and dispensing stock items and general stores duties
3. Using Oracle/PROMIS for booking in/out and checking stock levels
4. Assisting with inventory management activities, including yearly stock takes
5. Covering transportation of chemicals around the Caswell site
6. Regular cycle counting for consumables and finished goods
7. Processing EML & DML shipments
8. Supporting the return of bubblers and gas re-ordering
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Ability to work independently and self-motivate
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* High attention to detail
* High level of customer service, working closely with internal and external parties
* Experience in a similar environment is advantageous
* Forklift truck license (desirable) - training available
* Knowledge of gases and chemicals (desirable)
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Reasonable fitness level - some manual handling activities
* Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Well organized and focused on service delivery
* Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
