That said, if you are unsure whether you meet some or all of the criteria below, but are excited by the opportunity nevertheless, we encourage you to send in an application, as at least some of these skills are developable with guidance and experience. We hire for potential and mindset over a checklist of titles or software you’ve used. You would ideally have some experience working in a product environment, but more importantly, you should be excited by the idea of solving problems for teachers and working closely with designers, researchers, and developers. The Qualities That Matter Most To Us Curiosity: You ask thoughtful questions, dig beneath assumptions, and enjoy understanding how things work. Empathy: You can put yourself in the shoes of a busy teacher or school leader, and you use that perspective to shape decisions. Clarity in communication: You can break complex ideas into simple, unambiguous explanations — especially in writing. Attention to detail: You notice when something doesn’t look right, and you enjoy making things consistent, accurate, and complete. Structured thinking: You can organise information, see patterns, and take a logical approach to solving problems. Initiative: When you spot an issue, you take steps to explore it or propose a solution rather than waiting to be asked. You might currently be a Junior or Associate PM looking for more scope, a Project Coordinator ready to move into product, or a tech-savvy educator looking to pivot into a role outside of the classroom. We’d typically expect 1–3 years of relevant experience, but we’re open-minded for the right person. Desirable Experience in the EdTech sector or a background in classroom teaching. Familiarity with agile software development. Experience with product tools (e.g., Linear, Notion) or analytics tools (e.g., PostHog, Mixpanel).
